Project Description

We are seeking a freelancer to develop a lightweight software tool that automates the extraction, processing, and visualization of antenna radiation pattern and S-parameter data collected from VNA-based measurements using a rotating platform (theta/phi scans).

This tool will assist in post-processing large sets of test data, reduce human error, and generate presentation-ready plots and tables for engineering reports. No hardware integration is required — the software will work on exported files only.

Objectives:

  • Parse and organize exported .s1p or .csv files representing theta and phi angle sweeps
  • Match measurement angles with S11/S21 data based on filename or metadata
  • Provide:
    • 2D polar and Cartesian plots (Gain/VSWR/S11 vs angle or frequency)
    • Summary statistics: Peak Gain, Beamwidth, Return Loss, Bandwidth
    • Optional: 3D radiation pattern (from combined slices)
  •  Allow multi-file batch processing
  • Export plots as PDF, PNG
  • Export summary table as Excel or HTML

Technical Requirements:

  • Dynamic plot controls (linear/log scale, frequency selector, theta/phi switch)
  • Clear documentation and internal code comments

Ideal Freelancer Background:

  • RF engineer or software developer familiar with antenna measurements
  • Experience parsing .s1p, .csv, or VNA-generated exports
  • Strong data visualization and UI skills
  • Ability to deliver clean, organized, documented code

Timeline:
Estimated project duration: 2–4 weeks

How to Apply:
Please include:

  • Your preferred programming stack
  • Example of a previous scientific or engineering tool you developed
  • Any suggestions for optional features (e.g., 3D export, auto-alignment correction, etc.)
  • Estimated timeline and quote
